Popular Burundian entertainer DJ Ira, whose real name is Iradukunda Grace Divine, has officially acquired Rwandan nationality. The announcement came on Monday, April 15, 2025, weeks after she publicly asked President Paul Kagame for citizenship during a community outreach event at BK Arena on March 16.
Having lived in Rwanda since 2015, DJ Ira has played a major role in the local entertainment industry. She has performed at many high-profile events, including the Basketball Africa League (BAL), Afrobasket, YouthConnekt Africa Summit, and even national celebrations and presidential events.
After receiving her citizenship documents, DJ Ira took to social media to thank the President and the people of Rwanda. She shared emotional messages and photos, celebrating this important moment in her life.
